- Rihanna kinda pissed me off...
- November 7th, 2009
While I admire that Rihanna is breaking her silence for 'women dealing with abuse', I find it to be nothing but a publicity stunt for her album that is being released at the end of this month.
It just seems rather convenient that she has decided to speak out about this now and that angers me. She should be a spokeswoman for abuse but for the right reasons, so I have a hard time taking her seriously during her interview tonight.
I do wish that she had maybe done this as a 'one year later' or something along the lines of, but her album is getting weak reviews... what a fantastic way to promo.
It annoyed me. She could have done better. I did not watch the intervew based off of my opinion. Just seemed fake, forced and for her record - not for awareness.
ETA : I did see some youtube clips of Diane talking to her and all that I saw was her being sad that she and Chris couldn't be together. Honestly, I believe that she is still very much in love with him, and wants to be with him, but can't as it will tarnish her image.
Secondly, I also believe that if they hadn't leaked out the image of her battered face, she'd be with him right now - or their 'after' relationship would have lasted a lot longer.
